There has been so many things that have been going on lately. My band and I have been playing gigs from Grapevine all the way out to Gun Barrel City, Texas. The performance at Gater's Sports Bar and Grill was so much fun & we made a lot of new fans! This week is going to be so hectic, but I know it will also be fun. We have one gig on Thursday out in Plano at the Central Market from 12:30 to 5:30pm. Then same place and time on Friday. Then later that night, from 9 until 1 am, we will be back at the Back Porch Grill and Tavern out in Grapevine. The next day, Saturday, my band and I will be at the Lakewood Bar and Grill. So things have been moving pretty fast lately. I volunteered at a kids camp and then I had to rush home and leave again to go to my song writing meeting. I have been writing a lot. I will hopefully get to put some of my originals on a CD soon. I have also been on a roll of breaking things too which doesn't help when everything is so busy. It makes performing complicated when you just broke your mic. Hopefully the next few performances will go better. I hope to see everyone there at the next gigs. I also wish you all a happy July 4th.

Summer is finally here and Southern Rule and I are so excited. We have started this summer off to a great start. We had a gig out in Rockett, Texas that went really well. This summer we have so many things that we are trying to accomplish. First, I am so happy that we finally have merchandise. We have a logo now, and we have made T-shirts that you can buy. They are so cute. I have a baby doll styled one and I love it! This summer we are also going to focus on getting some gigs on some other stages throughout Texas. We are going to expand our playing area and make it easier for more of ya'll to come and see us. We know that sometimes our gigs come with a drive and we really do appreciate all of the support. I am working on more originals and hopefully will be able to start performing more of those. I am so ready to get to work this summer and I hope that ya'll are just as ready to party!!! I hope to see you all at the gigs and I hope you have a great summer.

Hey Everybody!!

We are currently recruiting Street Team members and need your help. I have listed the responsibilities of a Street Team below. In return, you can expect free merchandise, free tickets to future shows and a hand in generating a "buzz" about Ashley Austin and Southern Rule on a "grass-roots" level. The Street Team is an integral part of the band and without it, their success will be limited.

Street Team Responsibilities:

* Bringing friends to the shows
* Placing stickers and posters in your communities
* Convincing friends to buy band merchandise
* Posting to band forums and bulletin boards online
* Taking names to add to fan club

and then

* Phoning your local radio stations to request her songs be played
* Bring CD's to local DJ's in the clubs where they work
* Stocking CD's wherever you can

It does not matter where you live. A "buzz" is needed everywhere. Please help us spread the word about Ashley Austin and Southern Rule by emailing us to let us know that you will be on our Street Team!!

Congratulations to Ashley for winning 2nd runner up in this very competitive contest. She was 2nd runner up out of 35 contestants. Her performance was wonderful, including her joke that made the crowded theater laugh.

Ashley will be doing a photo shoot in Grapevine, this Sunday, Jan. 20th. We will post pics from the shoot within the next couple of weeks on her website.

Hello again! I wanted to say thank you to all the people who came to the performance at the Back Porch. Ya'll have no idea how much the support means to me. Last week was a hard week for my family and me, but seeing all the people at the Back Porch made me forget about the hectic week and made me just want to put on an awesome show. Other than the fact that I love singing and just won't shut up ever, the fans are the reason i am doing this. Without the fans, I am nothing. Hey Everyone,
First of all, I just want to say thank ya'll for the support. I was so excited that I had gotten so many hits on my site in such little time. This year has gone by so fast, and has been quite difficult at times. Having to balance singing and school this year was harder than any year in the past, but seeing all the comments has made it all worth while. I am so excited to start off this new year with my biggest performance yet. FOUR HOURS...at the Back Porch !! So to start off this year with a bang, please come to the Back Porch and bring all your friends. I will be singing with Matt, Shaey and Kim, who are all very energetic and loads of fun. Ashley Austin has recently become a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Ashley continues participating in all areas of the music business enabling her to become a well rounded artist /entertainer / songwriter / musician in country music.
